Eminent San Diego Supercomputer Center Director, Frank Würthwein’s keynote presents the argument for expanding CENIC AIR beyond its role as a research platform into an important role for AI education. Beyond presenting the rationale for CENIC AIR as an important experiential education tool that can promote social mobility, Würthwein will make the case for the economic impact for students at community colleges and CSUs.
Leading-edge UCSD data scientist, Ilkay Altıntaş, will make the case for evolving R&E networks beyond the transportation of data into an active infrastructure of innovation with AI-enabled data platforms, such as the National Research Platform, that are usable, trustworthy, and impactful.
