Vasilka Chergarova received a Ph.D. in Information Systems and Security from NOVA Southeastern University, a Masters in Management of Information Systems, and a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from Florida International University. She was an Open Science Data Cloud Fellow and researched open-source systems for distributed cloud-based infrastructure at Sao Paulo State University (UNESP). Vasilka is Assistant IT Director at the Center for Internet Augmented Research and Assessment (CIARA) at Florida International University (FIU). CIARA has implemented SDN in the production Research and Educational Network since 2014.
