Tanya Bulette is Counseling Coordinator for the San Diego County Office of Education, supporting and advocating for school counselors in 42 districts. She has been in this role for three years and has implemented and led countywide programs such as the San Diego School Counselor Con, the Kickoff to College and Career Readiness, San Diego County Race to Submit Challenge and the San Diego County School Counselor of the Year awards. Prior to this role, Tanya was a high school counselor for 20 years in the Grossmont Union High School District, working at both the site and district levels. Tanya is also an adjunct instructor for the School of Education at Point Loma Nazarene University, teaching graduate students in the school counseling program. She has also been a field supervisor at the University of San Diego and taught at Cuyamaca College. One of her greatest honors was being selected as the recipient of the Frank Jonasson Award through San Diego State University in 2012 for her work in leading school counselors towards implementing a districtwide graduation requirement, requiring that all high school seniors graduate with a post-secondary plan. Tanya was recently accepted into the doctoral program for Educational Leadership at the University of Southern California.
