Jamison has been working in research networking for over 25 years in various roles for network equipment manufacturers (Juniper and Cisco); academia (University of Illinois); a federally funded research and development center (MITRE); and a carrier (MCI/Verizon). He has been involved in major network research efforts, including: DoD DISA funded Internet traffic measurement projects; the National Science Foundation’s vBNS National Research and Education Network (NREN); the StarLight global NREN exchange point; and various collaborative research projects among network equipment manufacturers, research universities, labs, and research networks in the United States and around the world. He holds a master's degree in computer science from George Washington University and a bachelor's in mathematics/computer science from the University of California, San Diego. Jamison has published several articles on research networking.
