Director of Research Consulting & CENIC Conference Chair, University of California, Santa Cruz
Weekley is UC Santa Cruz’s Campus Director of Research Consulting. There, he works with campus divisions, faculty, and graduate students to devise technology solutions in support of digital scholarship. Previous to his position at UC Santa Cruz, he served as the Director of Research Computing & CyberInfrastructure at UC Merced, after his return from semi-retirement in New Zealand. His background in advanced network applications had its genesis in his previous work as Research Faculty at the Naval Postgraduate School’s MOVES Institute in his hometown of Monterey, CA. There, he specialized in emerging media, remote sensing, autonomous systems, and 3D visualization. He is currently undertaking a Ph.D. in Computational Media at Santa Cruz, where he hopes to be as smart and capable as his beloved Border Collie, Maté. He has been involved in the CENIC community for over 15 years, serving on the Program Committee and recently as Conference Chair.
