James Ochsner
Director of Library Services, Sutter County Library

Ochsner has been with the Sutter County library since 2007. Beginning as a Library Services Coordinator, he worked with the public providing programs for teens and adults. After being appointed Director of Library Services in 2011, Oschner worked to connect Sutter County libraries to CalREN which opened numerous opportunities to better serve the community. He embarked on a re-envisioning of library services with the Aspen Institute which, informed by several public dialogues, has him currently working with architects to design an improved service model for library services. Ochsner is excited about the future of libraries and the use of technology, art and design to engage the public. Ochsner has served on various library planning committees, Northnet Executive Committee and is currently serving on the Califa Board. He holds a BA in art from Dordt University and an MLIS from San Jose State University.
