Gabriella E. Alvarez is a PhD candidate in Astrophysics at Vanderbilt University. She is carrying out her thesis work on galaxy cluster outskirts and large-scale intercluster filaments at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics (CfA) with thesis advisors Dr. Kelly Holley-Bockelmann and Dr. Scott W. Randall. As an astrophysicist, she is uniquely qualified to motivate the growth and expansion of National Research and Education networks in California around the globe.
