Dr. Frank Gornick is Chancellor Emeritus of West Hills Community College District. During his 23 years serving as the CEO of West Hills Community College District, the district grew from a single college in California’s central valley to a multi-college system and an educational center. West Hills became known for its innovative approaches using technology to increase student learning, professional growth of its employees, diversity of staff and students, and contributions to the economic vitality of the communities it serves.
He is the Project manager for; A CETF and SJVRBC Partnership to bring “ubiquitous broadband to the San Joaquin Valley.”
He was named “Executive of the Year” by the Central Valley Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America for leadership in marketing. He was named the first recipient of the Paul Holmes Leadership Award by the Community College Facilities Coalition, an organization he led for over a decade. He has twice led the Central Valley Higher Education Consortium, a group of 30 community colleges and universities in the Central Valley of California. He has served on the Executive Committee of the Accrediting Commission of Community and Junior Colleges/Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
His statewide CEO colleagues honored Dr. Gornick with the 2017 Harry Buttimer Distinguished Administrator Award. On his retirement, the WHCCD Board of Trustees conferred the title Chancellor Emeritus.
