Director of Library Services, Eldorado County

Carolyn Brooks is the Director of Library Services for El Dorado County. Prior to this appointment two and a half years ago, she worked at the California State Library and administered statewide grant projects to public libraries, including Early Learning with Families, the Mental Health Initiative, and Veteran Services at the Library. She is a passionate advocate for education, especially for children with special needs, and all libraries in El Dorado County serve as Community Hubs. In a previous life, she was a public school teacher for 16 years and has taught every grade level from preschool to college. Married for almost 40 years, she has raised four boys with her husband, as well as dogs, lizards, snakes, and hamsters.
