General Director

Dr. Moisés Torres Martínez was appointed General Director of the University Corporation for Internet Development (CUDI). Dr. Torres was president of Paragon Technologies, a company that consulted comprehensive information technology solutions. He served as the Technology and Innovation Coordinator of the Open and Distance University of Mexico under the Ministry of Public Education. He has been an academic at the Virtual University of Guadalajara and the Banking School. He collaborates as General Director and Co-Founder of the Mexican Society of Supercomputing AC (SOMEXSU AC). He is a national leader in promoting the use of supercomputing in scientific research and development in Mexico.

He was the Design Coordinator in the General Coordination of Information Technologies (CGTI) at the University of Guadalajara. Before this position, he held various civil servant and professor positions in the United States of America, including at the University of California. He was an adjunct professor in the Department of Education, and Information and Computer Sciences at the Irvine and Santa Cruz Campuses. His last official position was Executive Director of the University of California College Prep Online.

He served as Vice President of the Learning and Technology Commission in California, appointed by the Governor. Additionally, his international experience includes consulting on projects related to technology and education in Mexico, Ecuador, Colombia, El Salvador, the Dominican Republic, and South Africa.

He is also co-founder of the International Supercomputing Congress in Mexico (ISUM), where he collaborates as president of the National Committee and serves on several committees related to supercomputing. Dr. Torres has been editor of the ISUM memoirs for ten years.
