Marla Meehl has more than 30 years of experience leading large-scale research and education networking initiatives that advance scientific discovery and cyberinfrastructure. As Integrated Network Services Manager in the Office of the CIO at the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR), she oversees a $3.5M budget and leads a team of 20, delivering resilient, high-performance networking services that support national-scale computing and data-intensive research.

Marla is Senior Program Director for the Front Range GigaPoP (FRGP) and has been instrumental in the development and expansion of regional and national research and education networks, including the Bi-State Optical Network (BiSON). She actively engages with the broader R&E community through leadership roles with the Western Regional Network (WRN), the National Research Platform (NRP), and service on the boards of CENIC and The Quilt.

She is the Principal Investigator for the NSF CC* award Integrating the Colorado Western Slope Research and Education (R&E) Community into the National R&E Infrastructure (FRGP-Western Slope). Her work includes close collaboration with tribal colleges and consortia to improve connectivity, support data sovereignty, and broaden participation through workforce development in advanced networking.
