Kevin Miller

District Director of Enterprise Architecture

Kevin Miller is the District Director of Enterprise Technology Architecture at State Center Community College District. State Center Community College District (SCCCD) serves 68,000 students across a four-county service area the size of Connecticut with four community colleges and several satellite campuses. Kevin leads the technical teams supporting network and systems infrastructure and serves as the District’s Chief Information Security Officer.

During the increased focus on network accessibility for students and residents that became acutely critical during the pandemic, Kevin joined forces with local anchor institutions and community-based organizations (CBOs) to co-found the Fresno Coalition for Digital Inclusion (FCDI). Now including ~30 anchor institutions and CBOs, FCDI is an ongoing, cross-sector collaborative working to improve digital inclusion for and with the digitally under-served within Fresno County. FCDI has been deeply involved in various state and federal broadband initiatives, working closely with local partners on innovative solutions to local access, affordability, and adoption issues. Evolving into a 501c3 non-profit in the summer of 2023, Kevin serves as the Chair of the inaugural Board of Directors.

Kevin has been deeply involved in designing and building high-performance networks for about 30 years. Starting as a network engineer with several regional ISPs during the early .com years, Kevin transitioned to working as a consulting engineer in private practice with an electrical and network engineering firm before joining SCCCD in 2016. Kevin’s work at SCCCD and FCDI has been incredibly fulfilling as it allows him to combine a deep understanding of network design and management with the ability to impact the lives of students and residents throughout the region.
