Jerry Sheehan is the Chief Information Officer for the Salk Institute. Before assuming this position in December 2023, he was Vice President and Chief Information Officer for San Diego State University. As the CIO, Mr. Sheehan has responsibility for the IT infrastructure supporting learning, research, and engagement. Jerry was a signatory to the Educause CIO Commitment on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and, through collaborations across SDSU's, is helping create outcomes to honor this commitment.

Before joining SDSU, Mr. Sheehan was the VP/CIO for Montana State University. His 25 years of higher education experience have focused on the value information technology can offer students, faculty, and staff.
