Donna Ohr

Deputy Director

Ohr is deputy director of communities, strategy, and technology at the award-winning San Diego County Library, Gale/Library Journal’s Library of the Year in 2012-2013. Ohr engineered San Diego County Library’s paradigm shift to the “Library of the Future,” which involved RFID conversion of the collection, installation of self-checks and Automated Material Handling (AMH) systems, and creating bookstore-style browsing areas. She led the building, expansion, and renovation of over $30M in library building projects that contributed to the San Diego County Library's inclusion in Library Journal's Year in Architecture in 2011. Currently, she is leading SDCL through another era of change and efficiencies around a new Integrated Library System (ILS), a central AMH, and redesigning bookmobile services. Ohr is also passionate about bringing broadband to rural communities and increasing educational opportunities for the disproportionately served.
