McClelland has worked in the quantum, energy, healthcare, cybersecurity, and computer science industries. He has worked for the City of San Diego, Science Applications International Corporation, and San Diego Gas and Electric. He is currently working with Qubitekk, where they build quantum networks and quantum-protected networks, both precursors to the quantum-enabled internet. A former ocean lifeguard, he holds a BA in Psychology and an MS in Computer Science.
