Britton became Cal Poly’s Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer in January 2016. He serves as director of the California Cybersecurity Institute, co-founder of the Digital Transformation Hub (DxHub), and the Paso Airport Commissioner.

Britton’s ambitious modernization projects are responsible for Cal Poly’s successful transition to a cloud-based campus data center, which was instrumental in ensuring Cal Poly could swiftly scale to virtual learning. In 2021, Mr. Britton received the Tambellini Technology CIO Award.

Mr. Britton has more than 30 years of experience in IT leadership, cybersecurity, space, and defense.
