Anna Sawamura is currently employed by San Mateo County Health Aging and Adult Services to oversee the division's work with non-profit and city providers offering programs and supportive services for older adults and adults with disabilities. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, and San Francisco State University, where she received her Master of Social Work degree with an emphasis on Administrative Management and Planning. Prior to joining San Mateo County, she worked for over 30 years with a non-profit organization focused on developing a continuum of care to assist older adults and families from the Asian American community, which included information and referral services, a senior center, a congregate and home delivered meals program, transportation services, case management, adult day care, family caregiver support, and management and operation of 24 hour ambulatory and non-ambulatory care at two residential care facilities.
