With roots in large-scale networking, cybersecurity, and information operations, Nikolich explores the grey areas between disciplines. Her work bridges the gaps between research, technical innovation, and real-world impact. Nikolich has extensive experience in cryptocurrency security, analytics, and regulation, including work at two successful startups; she co-founded the non-profit DART Collective and served on the Board of the DEFCON AI Village.

Nikolich is a former AAAS Public Engagement Fellow and Cyber Policy Initiative Fellow at the University of Chicago's Harris School of Public Policy, where I created and taught a graduate class titled "AI and Public Policy."

Prior to joining UIUC, she was an NSF Program Officer, ran global infrastructure teams in industry and academia, and served as a Marine Corps officer.
